Specialty Areas:

I specialize in play therapy, parenting support, working with adolescents and teens and people of all ages. I provide a variety of counseling techniques such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, parenting strategies, family counseling, internal family systems and sandtray therapy. I frequently provide help with anxiety, mood management and exposure therapy for OCD. My main approach is to provide a safe and secure environment for clients to process feelings and learn to manage emotions and behaviors.

Outside of the Therapy Space:

When I am not at work I enjoy baking, reading, spending time outdoors and walking my dog. I spend a lot of time with my two children and husband and extended family and friends. You will frequently find me doing a puzzle and rewatching my favorite shows such as Gilmore Girls and Ted Lasso.

Experience

I have worked in several agency settings focusing on children and families over the past 18 years. I also have experience working with clients dealing with severe and persistent mental health issues that have been involved in the legal system. For the past 10 years I have been in private practice and running Treehouse Counseling, LLC. I am currently providing licensure supervision and supervision for therapists who are interested in play therapy. I incorporate play, art, sandtray, and symbolism to aid in the therapeutic process. My therapy dog, Daisy, is present one day a week and is used for animal assisted therapy.
